John visited us here at Dancing TreePeople Farm off and on since 2004, and at Rockhaven before that. I am grateful for his fideliity to Earth and his love of those who are working for Earth. His transformation as a human being was a great inspiration to all... and I am forever grateful to him for his role in positively transforming the energies of our farm during a difficult time. John you made the world a better place. You will be missed.

John was a tremendous person and he is an inspiration to little Izaak, Mariah myself and my wife. I was touched deeply when I saw that he dedicated his site to my little ones. A great man just left the earth and began a fantastic journey beyond. God Bless your soul John! Erik Cobbett

The goodness of John's inner soul was very obvious to anyone who met him. He was a spiritual man who had an intense love for interacting with others and he had a great sense of humor. He loved being around kids and you could see his eyes light up when he interacted with them. John extended himself to others unconditionally. The world is one great person shorter now that John has entered eternal rest. We will always remember his smile and his kind and friendly spirit. God bless your soul, John. RIP

Dearest Loretta and family,
We share your sorrow in the loss of your brother John. He was such an inspiration and loving friend to our family. Our four kids will always remember when he visited us to deliver an Earth Ball and "Love and Peace" bumper stickers and t-shirts, which they often wear to school. He will continue to inspire them as they grow older, since he also sent books by Thomas Berry and other writers (our oldest son has learned so much about taking care of the Earth by reading the books.) I believe John will always be working and praying for peace and love, now from heaven. His life touched ours and we will never forget him. We will miss him, but are thankful for the Amazing Grace he has shared with us!

"Love and Peace to you and to the whole world,"
Debby (and Brian and Christopher, Katherine, Mary and Jonathan)

Thank you so much for the loving embrace that I feel coming from the whole Freel family. You meant so much to John. The welcome and love you gave him brought him deep joy. He especially loved the home made cards from the children. You were an amazing grace to him as well.

John found great joy in being able to assist in the unfolding of Green Mountain Monastery. I believe he will continue to do so in an even more powerful way. Shortly after hearing of John's death, I imagined his sitting and talking to Thomas Berry. What a blessing!

Every so often a person comes across one's path that allows one to get a glimpse of heaven. That is what John did for us. His simplicity and love of children, people, and all of creation touched us deeply. We looked forward to his annual visits to our home where he stayed to relax, enjoy the moment, and visit friends in the area. He was a wonderful companion to my husband Tom as well.
Our grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua and Elijah, call him "Big John."
Our daughter Ann just recently asked "When is Big John coming to visit?" Our son Tim posted a message on Facebook upon learning of John's death and stated we are all responsible now for carrying on his message of love and peace to the whole world. The pain of losing this gentle soul is great. Our only consolation is that now John is with our Eddie and loving us from that place where peace and love abound. We miss you John! We are all better off from having known you.

John was a loving and caring man. He was a man who was always ready to help the sisters and others he knew and did not know. This is an image of John. John and the sun (son ) of God. May John’s soul rest in peace.

God Bless

I have so many memories of John at FrancisEmma. Some of the most consoling ones are of the two of you laughing and teasing one another. Thank you for being a ray of sun (Son) shine in his life and in mine.

Thank you so much for letting us know about John. We are very sorry for your loss, in fact it is a loss to many many folks.

We only meet John once and loved him right away. Every few months we'd get a little something in the mail (stickers, pens) from him and be reminded of his passion and enthusiasm for his website and cause.

We will be thinking of him and you on May 1st (and many other days as well).

Kind regards,
Laurie Hepworth
and
Michael Hart

How consoling it is to know that John touched so many lives. He was really excited about your endeavor: "edible South Shore". I am confident that now you and others will be receiving from John - not stickers and pens - rather insights and strength that will move your project forward in marvelous ways. We are all connected in life and in death. I am grateful for your taking time to connect with me and my family.

John was an exceptional human being. His support over the years for my little newsletter, Gaian Voices, helped keep it going. There were a couple of times when it was his donations that meant it actually got published. His gentle, loving spirit and his commitment to the earth and the people who worked on earth's behalf were inspirational. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you for touching John's life He was so impressed with your endeavor. Gaian Voices was on the table next to his favorite chair. Every so often he would mention something he had read - and check to see if I had read it as well :-) Blessings on your new projects and direction!

Tripp (John) was a genuine person with a heart of pure gold! He was loved and cherished by many, including my wife and I and my two children for whom two of the names on the dedication of his web site are listed. My wife knew of John from the Capeway days and I from the Wine Basket. He would come in to my store weekly to play his lottery tickets and always said that he came out of his way to play at my store so that I would get the commision, lol! Upon entering he would always ask how his two girls (my wife and daughter) and my son, where. I always looked forward to seeing him. He would bring things in to give to my children and sometimes he would just stop by the house to see my wife and kids while I was at work. It pains me deeply to know that he has left this earth in body, he truly loved our planet to no end but now his soul has gone on. My family will also miss him and while my children are both too young to understand, they too shall miss him. He came in to my store and told me that he was just at my house and held my son in his arms. He said that it was the best feeling and I could tell just by the look in his eyes, that he really meant it. I was just as happy to know that my family have had the opportunity to experience the love and admiration of such a great man. Tripp, we love you and will miss you but we WILL see you again! - Tom, Deb, Martha and Constantinos

You captured John's spirit and way of living so powerfully.Thank you for posting. I stopped responding for awhile - dealing with my own grief and sense of loss was overwhelming. I am so glad that John was in the life of your family. He had a big heart and sought to love deeply and generously. You blessed him in opening up and sharing your life with him. I am grateful.

In remembrance of John, we were telling stories around the dinner table with the kids since tomorrow is his birthday. They remember when he visited us to bring an Earth ball, Love and Peace t-shirts, books to inspire us. Mary said, "I like how he came here PERSONALLY to visit us and give us those gifts!" Yes, he will continue to inspire our family to love and protect our Earth, and love all the people who call Earth home. We miss you dear John...may you have Love and Peace in heaven and on Earth always.
